EN: S*ARC + LMAO´s concept design for a seven-storey residential building close to Reforma Avenue, one of the most iconic roads in Mexico City, seeks to provide a distinctive character to the building located in a quiet residential road. The ground floor is mostly occupied by car park area and the upper levels accommodate one apartment per floor with ample internal areas.
Due to its orientation to the south the main façade design with projected hexagonal balconies provides shading at the time that creates an extended and protected outdoor area to bring natural ventilation and lighting to the main interior areas. This gesture is continued to the top of the building thus providing horizontal shading to the roof garden areas. At night, the façade is lit up to project a ´memory´ of the adjacent trees.
ES: El diseño conceptual de S*ARC + LMAO para un edificio residencial de siete pisos cerca de la avenida Reforma busca brindar un carácter distintivo al edificio ubicado en una calle residencial tranquila. La planta baja está ocupada principalmente por el área de estacionamiento y los niveles superiores tienen un apartamento por piso con amplias áreas internas.
Debido a su orientación hacia el sur, el diseño de la fachada principal con balcones hexagonales proyectados proporciona sombra en el momento que crea un área exterior extendida y protegida para brindar ventilación e iluminación natural a las áreas interiores principales. Este gesto continúa hasta la parte superior del edificio, lo que proporciona un sombreado horizontal a las áreas del jardín del techo. Por la noche, la fachada se ilumina para proyectar una "memoria" de los árboles adyacentes.
